Different Energy Sources

  • test :

Different energy sources refers the different ways we capture and utilize energy. They include renewable and nonrenewable forms of energy. The kind of energy we use is determined by many factors, including how it impacts the environment and if it’s affordable and accessible.

In 2018 fossil fuels (oil, natural gas, and coal) were responsible for 81 % of the energy produced in the world. These energy sources that are not renewable can be harmful to the environment in a variety of ways. For example oil drilling could be devastating to wildlife and communities. Fracking can cause pollution of water. Also, coal power plants emit CO2.

Renewable energy, also known as green energy or clean energy is derived from naturally occurring and continuously replenishing resources such as sunlight wind, water, and sun. It’s a great option for reducing our dependence of dirty energy sources and also helping the planet.

But renewable energy isn’t only about protecting the environment, it’s also about being reliable and cost-effective. Renewable energy is becoming more well-known as a way to power our homes and businesses.

The most commonly used renewable energy sources are solar, wind hydropower, nuclear and solar. Solar energy makes use of technology that convert sunlight into electricity and heat. Wind energy harnesses the kinetic energy of moving air to generate electricity. It is utilized in many places across the globe. Hydropower harnesses water’s force to generate electricity. Nuclear energy produces electricity by using the process of atomic fission.
